Heavy Industrial Welding & Fabrication Services

Certified welders, plasma cutting, forming and machining for large weldments, structural assemblies and industrial components.

Welder in a helmet laying an arc weld

Welding & Fabrication at a glance

CBM’s fabrication department cuts, forms, welds and finishes large weldments, structural assemblies, lifting devices, containers, skids and industrial components. Our welders are certified to ASME and AWS standards and work in MIG, TIG and submerged arc, on materials from carbon and stainless steel to Inconel, Hastelloy X, Waspaloy and titanium.

Fabrication shares the building with our machine shop, quality department and paint and sandblasting, so a weldment can be cut, welded, machined, inspected and coated without leaving the facility.

Fabrication, machining and inspection under one roof

A weldment that has to be machined is cut, welded, machined, inspected and coated in the same 250,000 sq ft facility. That avoids shipping heavy parts between a fabricator and a machine shop and keeps the whole job on one schedule.

Twenty-two overhead cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 100,000 lb move parts between departments. Crane capacity is a handling limit; the right maximum size for your weldment depends on its geometry and the machines it needs, so send the drawing and we will confirm.

What fabrication covers

From precision alloy welding to large structural weldments.

Common questions

Are CBM welders certified?

Yes. CBM welders are certified to ASME and AWS, with MIG, TIG and submerged arc capability.

What materials can CBM weld?

Stainless steel, carbon steels, aluminum, Inconel (600, 625, 690, 713C, 718, 751, 792, 939), Hastelloy X, Waspaloy, Hardox and AR plate, manganese alloy and titanium of all grades.

How large a weldment can CBM build?

It depends on the design and the machining the weldment needs. Send the drawing with dimensions and weight and we will confirm. Our 22 overhead cranes have a lifting capacity of up to 100,000 lb.

What cutting and forming equipment does CBM have?

A 10 × 25 ft HD plasma cutting system, a 22 ft Pacific hydraulic press brake, metal rolling and hydraulic presses.

Does CBM paint and coat fabrications?

Yes. Epoxy-based paint with sandblasting preparation, industrial wet paint, thermal zinc spray and flame spray metalizing.
