Every gearbox starts with a chemical cleanse and a free teardown and inspection (TDI). Our technicians diagnose the failure, investigate how it started and review your maintenance routine, so the rebuild addresses the cause as well as the damage.
Each gearbox receives new bearings and seals, and gears and shafts are remanufactured to OEM specifications where needed, often in our own gear-cutting and turning departments. Critical features are documented with FARO CMM reports, and vibration analysis and non-destructive testing are available.

Finding the cause, not just the damage
A gearbox usually arrives because something changed: noise, heat, vibration, leaks, or a failure that stopped the line. The teardown and inspection identifies which components are damaged and why.
Our technicians also look at the workload on the equipment and your routine maintenance, and advise if they find a deficiency, so the rebuilt unit is not set up to fail the same way again.
Repair or replace?
Downtime
A new unit can carry a long lead time. Because CBM cuts gears and machines shafts in house, a repair can often be completed sooner than a replacement arrives.
Part availability
For older or discontinued gearboxes, replacement parts may be hard to get. Gears and shafts can be remanufactured to OEM specifications from the original components.
Component condition
The teardown shows whether the housing and major components are worth rebuilding. Your quote reflects what we find, so you can compare the repair against a new unit.
